Description

July 8th (Thursday) 7:30pm  Learning SAORI clothing designs

July 29th (Thursday) & August 19th (Thursday)  7:30pm Show and Tell

This program is for beginner sewers  and people who would like to be good at sewing garments with handwoven material. There are 3 sessions.

At the first session, Mihoko will guide you to make paper garments. You will cut paper and tape them where sewing stitches would be. In this way, you will understand better how the designs come together and you will be able to apply the idea to your handwoven material. You need to have origami paper, a washi tape, a ruler, a pencil, and a pair of scissors.

Mihoko will show how she sews with a sewing machine and teach basic stitches people use for SAORI clothing.

Then you will make your own garments and share them at the second and third sessions. You take several pictures of your work and share screen on zoom. You can pick any pattern and you can make more than one garment.

[Cancellation Policy}

If you cancel before one week prior to the workshop, I will charge $20 and refund the rest.  If you cancel  after that, I will not  refund. It is still nice to hear from you if you cannot make it.
